Prior to joining the team, Josh served as Legal & Policy Deputy for LAUSD School Board Member Jackie Goldberg, where he helped craft resolutions committing the school district to transition to 100% clean energy and reimagining school safety with less reliance on school police.

Josh is a civil rights lawyer by training and has represented individuals and families fighting for their rights as they came into contact with law enforcement, jails, and prisons. He is a graduate of Deep Springs College, Harvard University, and Yale Law School.

A native Angeleno, Josh lives in CD4 and recently served as a representative on the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council, which prompted him to found the Progressive Neighborhood Council Alliance. Outside of his work for our office, he currently serves on the Executive Board of the California Democratic Party representing Assembly District 43.
