Geoff has 18+ years of project management experience, first in the private sector in management and technology consulting, and since 2015, at the City of Los Angeles. He began his career as a civil servant here in LA working for former CAO Miguel Santana as lead author of the Comprehensive Homeless Strategy, a 300+ page roadmap LA adopted and funded to address the needs of our region’s unhoused. He then went to work for Councilmember Mike Bonin as his LAX Liaison, working closely with airport area community members, stakeholders, and LAX leadership to reduce congestion, improve air quality and public space, and ensure major development projects move forward with maximum benefit to nearby communities. Most recently, this resulted in a new Memorandum of Understanding between partners in labor (SEIU-USWW) and LAX enshrining new labor protections, lower cost transportation, additional air quality and sustainability measures, and a worker-focused health study for thousands of workers at the country's 2nd busiest airport.

Geoff is passionate about the intersection of public space, public health, and quality of life. He grew up with family in the Netherlands, and Geoff’s visits there exposed him to good city planning, affordable well-designed housing, and abundant low-cost transportation. He brings this passion to his work every day as a civil servant for Council District 4. He has a Masters in City and Regional Planning from the University of Amsterdam and Bachelor Degrees in Marketing & International Business, International Studies, and Spanish from Penn State. He lives in Altadena with his husband, their dog and two cats.
